Projects


  Consortium for Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) is an NSF REU site that offers research and training opportunities at Cal State LA and JPL in the areas of astronomy, astrophysics, planetary science, and space explorations.

Projects involve observations, image processing, data analysis, scientific programming, instrumentation development, or space missions engineering. Most are related to future or ongoing JPL missions.

There is a summer-only option as well as a year-round program option. NSF student stipends are provided.

The CURE program offers research experiences to undergraduate students majoring in science, math, or engineering who are enrolled in the following institutions, members of the Consortium:

1. California State University Los Angeles (CSULA)
2. East Los Angeles College (ELAC)
3. Los Angeles City College (LACC)
4. Los Angeles Southwest College (LASC)
5. Los Angeles Valley College (LAVC)
6. Pasadena City College (PCC)
7. Victor Valley College (VCC)

Graduating seniors are not eligible. The program is restricted to US citizens or US permanent residents.
